What happened to the Android game?

The first Starfall Alliance was big: exploration, bullet hell, mining, stations, a galactic map, asynchronous multiplayer, an Android build. A lot of it actually worked — authentication, procedural generation, enemy AI, the galactic map. But the scope grew faster than one person can finish.

What became clear over all that time is that the heart of the project was never a genre: it was the universe. The Vytar, living ships that evolve. The Vexro, who don’t follow the laws of physics. Corruption, which grants power and collects its price. The Dead Zone, which keeps advancing.

So Starfall Alliance stops being one game and becomes the universe, with several games. And this site becomes that universe’s home.

Starfall: Incursion

The first published game is a deckbuilder roguelite, playable in the browser:

  • You’re a pilot freshly bonded to a larval Vytar. Each incursion is a run through the Outer Rim.
  • A 15-floor procedural map, with Incursions, Sentinels, Anomalies, Nexus-7 and Nurseries.
  • Turn-based card combat. The Vexro show what they’re about to do, and every turn is a small puzzle.
  • The act boss is the Colossus of Astrid, what’s left of the First Contact colony.

The Corruption paradox

The core mechanic comes straight from the lore: corruption is the fuel of evolution. Every card can be upgraded two ways. Evolved is safe. Corrupted is much stronger — and every time you play it, Corruption rises.

The lore’s stages became rules. At the Whispers stage, enemy intents start to lie. At Dissolution, your cards transform in your hand. And at 100… well, the records were erased.

Why the browser?

  • Zero friction: open a link and play. No store, no download.
  • Works on PC and phone, installs as an app and runs offline after the first visit.
  • It’s a way to get the game into more people’s hands quickly, and to hear from the people playing it.

What comes next

The next steps are on the roadmap: publish the game at incursao.starfallalliance.com, open it up for playtests, and then the online phase, with pilot accounts (one account for every game in the universe), a Daily Incursion leaderboard and the shared galactic map.

The earlier devlogs stay here as a record of how we got to this point.
