Act 2 — Frontier
An incursion has two acts. Once you defeat the Colossus of Astrid, the Outer Rim is left behind and your Vytar evolves before moving on to the Frontier: the warp routes where Alliance fleets were converted by the Dead Zone.
Vytar Evolution
When you defeat the Act 1 boss, the Vytar rises from Rank F (Larval) to E (Young) and you choose 1 of 3 mutations. The mutation lasts until the end of the incursion:
| Mutation | Effect |
|---|---|
| Chitinous Carapace | +12 max Integrity |
| Thermal Gland | Start of each combat: +3 Heat |
| Cold Blood | Start of each combat: +8 Shield |
| Multiple Eyes | +2 cards on the first turn |
| Expanded Core | +1 Energy on the first turn |
| Void Hunger | Heal 3 whenever an enemy dies |
| Ash Thorns | Whoever attacks you takes 3 damage |
| Symbiote Membrane | Corruption gained in combat also becomes Shield |
| Inner Flame | Your Burn applies +1 |
When you depart, you heal 30% of your max Integrity.
The Frontier
A new 15-floor map, with more Red and Dying stars, and its own enemies: Converted Drones, Hollow Frigates, Echo Pilots, Route Swarms, Infected Freighters, Dead Beacons and Vexro Fighters. The Frontier Sentinels are the Converted Admiral, Threshold Station and the Route Twins.
The Frontier has exclusive Anomalies, and after the Evolution, cards and artifacts that only show up from then on enter the game: Ash Wing, Converted Hull, Flight of Icarus, Icarus Feather and Frontier Beacon.
The Vytar of Icarus
The Frontier boss is the Vytar of Icarus, the ship that came back alone from the Icarus Mission. Its signature move, Mirror Maneuvers, deals damage based on the number of cards you played that turn: the intent shows the damage rising with each card. Sometimes, playing less is playing better.
Below 50% Integrity, it calls back the mission’s pilots.
After Icarus
Beating the Vytar of Icarus leads to a new Evolution (Rank E → D, one more mutation) and on to Act 3 — Dead Zone.
The Daily Incursion only has Act 1. The Weekly ends at Icarus (where you choose between ending or descending into the Depths). Regular incursions have all three acts.
